Web Design, Development, SEO & 2.0 Optimization for Jessica Lanyadoo
Client: Jessica Lanyadoo
Challenge: Jessica had the same website for over 5 years, and it was an outdated HTML site. Jessica’s clientele and popularity soared within this time period and she became well known for her column, Psychic Dream Astrology, published on the website for the San Francisco Bay Guardian. Jessica really needed a website that not only hosted her own weekly horoscope forecasts, but also showcased her ever growing collection of press material, such as radio and tv interviews, podcasts, articles, and awards. And should we even mention her ever growing list of clients!
Switchblade Solution: We knew we could get Jessica up to speed with her online presence without making it feel foreign or disconnected to the real world. First off, we wanted her to feel at home in her new website. Jessica contributed an amazing array of concepts that matched her lifestyle, her office, and her personality. All the imagery used on her site are photos taken by Jessica herself, and anyone who later visits her office after having familiarized themselves with her site will surely see the continuity!
Also, Jessica emphasized that she was non-techy and wanted her website to be as user-friendly and easy as could be, and yet have functions to bring her into a 2.0 world. Switchblade said, “No problem!” We incorporated simple forms on her site and embedded a Paypal button. Soon, when Jessica is ready for the big jump, we will incorporate an automated appointment booking system. Apparently, she has time…Jessica is already booked through July 2011!
